ABOUT US

We’re sisters Carole Tufeld and Patty Dickman: two lifelong travelers who share a deep love for Mahjong!

Our passion for the game began with our mom, Roz, a devoted Mahjong player who taught us both. Every time we sit down to play, we think of her, and launching Tile Travelers Mahjong Retreats feels like a heartfelt tribute to her. Each retreat also features a fundraising raffle to directly support breast cancer research in her memory.

As travel agents, we’ve spent years planning trips for family and friends. Now, through Tile Travelers, we’re thrilled to combine our love of travel with the wonderful and ever-growing Mahjong community.

Though we don’t always get to play together since Carole lives in Los Angeles and Patty moved to Nashville five years ago, we’ve each found amazing groups of friends through the game, and it continues to bring us joy and connection.

We can’t wait to see you at one of our retreats!

IN LOVING MEMORY

Our mom, Roz, was an inspiration not only to us, her daughters, but to everyone who knew her. Each week she looked forward to her Friday mahjong games with her dear friends. She taught both of us how to play mahjong, and like her, we became passionate about the game.

Sadly, she passed away in 2024 from breast cancer. To honor her memory, we have incorporated our fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation into our events with our signature Pink Basket Raffle.

Join us for a day of mahjong play with tournament and social options, lunch, swag bags, a silent auction, raffles, and more to close out Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a Bam!

The event will feature our signature Pink Basket Raffle benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

A percentage of all event proceeds along with all silent auction proceeds will benefit the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition.
